Polished Cement Floor Care and Maintenance
While the new cement floors in the fellowship hall and hallways are resilient and should last forever, we still need to take care of them:
- Any spills must be cleaned up immediately; if allowed to sit on the floor or dry, staining and discoloration can occur.
- The floors are extremely resistant to scratching, however, dragging heavy objects such as tables could affect the finish.
- Never clean the floor with standard cleaners. Most all standard cleaners will eventually cause etching of the cement and will dull the finish. Damp mopping with water is recommended. If a stronger cleaner is required, the preferred floor cleaner is in the janitor’s closet and should be used at a dosage of 1 oz. per gallon.
