2010 Artisans on the Green ApplicationArtisans on the Green Dear Artisan: You are invited to apply for participation in the 17th annual Artisans on the Green, a juried arts and craft show that is part of the Dixboro Fair. It is situated on the Dixboro Village Green about two miles east of US-23 on Plymouth Road, Ann Arbor, Michigan. The Fair will be held Saturday, August 7, 2010, from 10a.m. to 6p.m. This event, sponsored by Dixboro United Methodist Church, is set in a beautiful setting with all day entertainment, food, activities and games. Even with the recent economic situation, we had one of the most successful fairs last year. We will continue the very popular feature with the support team just for the artists. This group is known as FAST (Fair Artist’s Support Team). These enthusiastic volunteers will be available to purchase food and deliver it directly to the artists (no more waiting in line or purchasing tickets), answer questions and supply limited booth relief. As in the past, part of this year’s net proceeds will go to local charities. In order to maintain the show’s quality, we have developed acceptance guidelines. You will find them enclosed with this letter as well as an application for this year’s event. If you have questions after thoroughly reading these requirements, feel free to contact me @ 586-703-0603 or dixborofairart@att.net. Entries should be sent to: Artisans on the Green, We are looking forward to another great year and continue to strive for quality in the art that make up the Artisans on the Green. Sincerely, 17th Annual Artisans on the Green The Village Green Artisans on the Green Guidelines All entrants will be juried. The Artisans on the Green Coordinator will make the final decision regarding acceptance and jury members. To apply, please submit photos representing each medium of work to be sold. Also include a photo example of your booth set-up. Applications must be postmarked by April 22, 2010. There are no refunds once the acceptance letters have been sent. All works must be original and handcrafted by the artist. No manufactured items are allowed unless they are pre-approved by the jury (e.g. postcards, t-shirts). Please be advised that we strictly enforce this rule; your booth will be reviewed by a show jury to check for compliance. Those selling unapproved goods will be asked to remove them. There is a separate section of the fair for those wishing to sell pre-approved non-handcrafted merchandise. Sharing booths is not allowed unless the artists are part of one business. Booths with more than one media will be approved on an individual basis.
