Rev. Mary Hagley (Deacon)
Minister of Youth, Children, & Families
Rev. Mary Hagley is an ordained Deacon in the Michigan Annual Conference, and is currently serving her first appointment at Dixboro UMC as the Minister of Children and Youth. She has a Bachelor of Arts with a major in Religion and minors in Business and Women Studies from Adrian College. In 2010, she graduated from Garrett Evangelical Theological Seminary with a Master of Arts in Christian Education with a youth ministry specialization, and in 2011 she was commissioned as a deacon. In June 2016, Mary was ordained as a Deacon.
Mary’s passion for ministry is to equip, challenge, and encourage young disciples along their faith journey. She is ready to teach, lead, and support our young disciples and families. She is also dedicated to being God’s hands and feet and helping others understand their service to God. One of her favorite memories is watching youth on mission trips realize that they are instruments of God’s grace and love to all people they come into contact with.
Mary and her husband, Jeff, both grew up in Milan, MI, and were married in 2006. They welcomed Ethan Jeffrey into their family on December 20, 2011. A unique fact is Ethan was born on Mary’s birthday. Layla Kristine was born September 16, 2015. Her family is very important and is an integral part of her ministry.
Mary has two life verses: Jeremiah 29:11 “For I know the plans I have for you, says the Lord, plans for your welfare and not for harm, to give you a future with hope.” And the second is similar Philippians 4:13 “I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me.”
